Now a new dairy-free milk made from peas has hit the market, that promises to be both nutritious and delicious.
The milk is made from yellow peas, a 'wholesome and humble' vegetable that is high in fiber, low in fat and very high in protein.
And while cashew, almond and coconut milks have little to no protein, the pea milk, made by American company Ripple, has eight grams per serving, which is more than an egg.
As a result, the unique milk helps keep people full and 'activates the release of hormones in the body that keep you feeling full between meals.
The peas also contain amino acids that can help decrease belly fat and because they are easily digested, they also prevent the bloating that some people suffer after drinking dairy milk.
