About quinoa – Quinoa, referred to as the mother of all grains by ancient Incan societies, is highly nutritious. The seed has all nine essential amino acids and is rich in antioxidants and iron, making it a complete vegetable protein
Cooking instructions:
The quinoa possesses a natural protective coating, called the saponin, that has a bitter taste. We do our best to ensure that effective methods are used to prewash the quinoa. However, the level of this bitter taste differs from one harvest to the other, and so we highly recommend to always rinse the quinoa thoroughly before cooking it. Cook 1 cup of quinoa in 1.5 cups of water. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 12 to 15 minutes.
