Miyoko’s Vegan Butter is on the Cultured Side of Plant-Based Alternatives

Miyoko’s European-Style Cultured Vegan Butter Block

In 2018, Miyoko did toy with some flavored soft buttery spreads. But at this time, the vegan butter block is the only butter alternative from Miyoko’s Creamery that is available. It’s fermented with live and active cultures and churned to achieve a taste and consistency that’s similar to European-Style butter.

We have sampled Miyoko’s Vegan Butter on toast, and it was positively delicious. I seriously couldn’t get enough of the creamy mouthfeel and perfectly salted flavor. It didn’t really taste “cultured,” but it did have a touch of umami that I haven’t tasted in other butter alternatives.

This is a firm, slice-able butter alternative (much like butter sticks), and it’s supposed to be a versatile butter alternative for baking and cooking, too.

Please note: this is a 'high risk' item, and if melting occurs is difficult to contain due to packaging. (The butter is just wrapped in paper.) We pack in a separate space to minimize leakage, but please be aware of this risk.
